23 years ago, I found myself looking for work that meant I could juggle a newborn and two teenage girls but still earn what I needed to fund our lifestyle. Avon presented itself as a great opportunity to do just that and now years later, as I’ve been promoted to Grandma, and find the business still allows me to earn flexibly and make the most of family time.
Being a stay-at-home mum who earns with Avon can be a rewarding way to generate income, whilst having that much needed work-life balance.
Whilst I know starting a new role may seem daunting, it doesn’t have to be…
Here’s a step-by-step guide to getting started:
- Signing up
Join my team here and sign up as an Avon representative. You may need to pay a small fee for a starter kit, which typically includes brochures, product samples, and business tools.
- Get to know your products
Have fun and take time to really get to know Avon’s product range, test out skincare, makeup, fragrances, and home goods. This knowledge helps you recommend products confidently to your new potential customers.
- Be a networking mum
Family and Friends: Start by introducing your Avon business to people you know. Share your brochures and samples, people love a try before you buy!
Social Media: Socials are the way everyone communicates nowadays, so why not set up a dedicated business account on platforms like Instagram, Facebook, or TikTok to showcase Avon’s products.
Local Community: Connect with neighbours, those fellow playground mums, and perhaps some of your community groups, Zumba, Brownies, maybe even your book club!
- Leverage Avon’s Digital Tools
Avon always wants to help you to help yourself, so utilise those Avon platforms that provide online stores for representatives. Share your unique online store link to let customers order directly through you without needing face-to-face interaction, for when that work-life balance needs a more life-focused moment.
Avon supports you every step of the way, with their online training resources you’ll be able to grow your business with your newly enhanced selling and marketing skills, learnt directly from Avon.
- Only for the party parent!
In-person and online Avon parties are a great way to get new potential customers feeling that Avon buzz. Guests can enjoy light-hearted relaxed evenings, try samples, share snacks, drinks, and perhaps they will find their newest makeup must-have!
If in-person parties aren’t your thing, why not try a virtual party? Keep in touch with friends, distant family via Zoom and why not show them the latest of what Avon has to offer… or perhaps show your social followers via Facebook or Instagram Live, get ready for your close-up!
I think what’s important to note, is that your Avon business can fit around balancing your everyday lifestyle, from school runs to 5pm early dinners, or that 8am swimming club. Working for Avon, you choose your own hours, in your own time, and with your own efforts. Avon gives you the ability to dedicate time each week for managing orders, reaching out to customers, or promoting online, but at a time that suits you best.
So, if you’ve made it this far or especially if you’re a stay-at-home mum looking to pay for that next summer holiday, those winter bills or even more, looks like Avon could be the perfect role for you!
